QuiltCon West

I attended QuiltCon West in Pasadena on Thursday, February 18, 2016 and took a class called "Faces" with Melissa Averinos.  I had a fantastic time in class and at the quilt show.  Here are a couple of the pictures of the faces that I made in class.  They are a work in progress but I really liked the process and the outcome. My teacher won "Best of Show" at the show.  Representatives came into class and told her that she won.  It was so exciting.  Her quilt called "My Brothers Jeans" was a quilt that she made from her brothers jeans after he committed suicide.  It was quite moving. Here are some of the beautiful quilts from the show. This last one is me standing in from of a Sherri Lynn Woods Improvisational Quilt.  I loved this quilt and it is from her book that I am working through.  I am part of her Facebook group where we share our "scores" and our journey through improvisation.  I absolutely loved this qui
